Job description

Self Employed Hairdresser - starting with 1 day a week at Bassetlaw Hospice with the potential to increase hours.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide a caring, efficient and effective hairdressing service for all patients here at Bassetlaw Hospice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide basic hairdressing to our patients in a caring and compassionate manor.
  • Knowledge of wigs and wig replacement would be an advantage.
  • To keep the hospice salon station clean and tidy
  • To work across the IPU (in patient unit) and support and wellbeing
  • To build positive relationships with patients and staff.
  • To provide own liability insurance
  • To comply with all Covid-19 procedures set by the hospice.
  • To comply with the hospice data protection and confidentiality policies

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions, including COSHH regulations and an awareness of health and hygiene procedures.
  • Knowledge of palliative care would be an advantage
  • Good communicator (good verbal, writing, and listening skills are needed

Job description

Self Employed Qualified Complementary Therapist - starting with 12 hours per week at Bassetlaw Hospice with the potential to increase hours.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide a caring, efficient and effective complementary therapy service for patients here at Bassetlaw Hospice. To provide a calm and relaxing environment, building positive professional relationships with patients and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

· To provide a range of therapies such as: reflexology, massage, aromatherapy and reiki

· To work across the IPU (in patient unit) and support and wellbeing

· To build positive relationships with patients and staff.

· Attend MDT meetings

· Management and ordering of oils on behalf of the charity

· To look after the working environment provided by the charity

· To provide own liability insurance

· To comply with all Covid-19 procedures set by the hospice.

· To comply with the hospice data protection and confidentiality policies

· To work liaise with the Support and Wellbeing team.

Key Competencies

· At least 2 years post registration experience

· Must hold a professional qualification

· Be a member of a professional body

· Qualifications and experience in palliative care

· Experience in mindfulness / relaxation would be an advantage

· Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions, including COSHH regulations and an awareness of health and hygiene procedures.

· Excellent communication skills
