The Hospice offers a range of supportive services to patients with a life limiting illness within Bassetlaw. The sessions will be held on Fridays in the Day Hospice.
Drop in Sessions for Discharged Day Care Patients
This session is aimed at patients who have previously attended Day Care at the hospice and have been dischaged as their condition has improved. There will be an opportunity for patients to keep in contact with the hospice service, discuss any problems they may have relating to thier illness, and socialise with other patients. The session will be for the full day. (10am to 2pm)

Carers Drop In Sessions
Acknowledging the importance of the role of an informal carer, the hospice offer a monthly drop in session for carers of patients with a life limiting illness. Carers will have the opportunity to meet with others in a similar position over light refreshments. Staff will be available to offer advice and support. We hope to include a variety of demonstrations including: Breathe Easy ( teaching techniques to deal with breathlessness) and advice on food supplements and their use in cooking. There is a book loan service and internet access for obtaining information relating to cancer, other diseases and thier treatments. The sessions with be from 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Bereavement Support
This service is available to recently bereaved relatives and carers of hospice patients and those known to the Macmillan Cancer Support Service. Day Care and Community Macmillan Nurses will be available to give advice and support. The sessions are from 10am to 12 midday.
